Memorable Day In The Life Of This Cannibal Corpse Fan

KILL CD

I originally intended to Blog about what a great album Cannibal Corpse's new "KILL" CD is, but if you've heard it - you already know how great it is. Besides there is something else thats on my mind that I'd rather share with you.

What A Great Day!

My day started great this morning, I'm happily listening to my new album at work and looking forward to my lunch break so I can get a chance to update tombofthemutilated.net with the lyrics to the newest Cannibal Corpse masterpiece. As I'm looking at the lyrics sheet, I'm kind of wondering where the picture of the zombie is. ( I later discovered its behind the CD ).

Anyway, I take out the lyrics inserts and start skimming through it, and a word on the back page of course catches my eye. "TOMBOFTHEMUTILATED.NET". Right there in the "Cannibal Corpse Thanks:" section of my favorite band's latest CD - there it is. My favorite band thanking our website, right along with the webmistress of their own site and forums, the crews from their labels, and other friends and fans.

How Cool Is That?

I guess it goes without saying that I can hardly wipe the grin off my face at the moment. Our website is mentioned on the inside cover of their album! Seriously - how cool is that ? When I think of all the cool things that the band has done for us over the years, signing autographs, staying up late after shows to meet us, answering our questions online, joining us in the chat room - my experience today with seeing our website mentioned on their album tops them all - at least personally to me it does.

I think that it demonstrates one of the reasons that this band has as strong a following as it does. Great music aside, Kick ass live performance not withstanding, every member of Cannibal Corpse has always gone to great lengths to make their fans feel appreciated and welcomed. Wether its standing outside in the cold for all hours after a show to talk to their fans, or simply a mention in the Cannibal Corpse thanks section of their CD liner - Cannibal Corpse cares about their fans, and basically they are just a great bunch of guys.

Well thank you Cannibal Corpse for being the great guys that you are, and of course thanks for the sick twisted death metal. You're great and I for one will be a fan for life.

Enter The Gallery Of Suicide

Gallery Of Suicide ( Review ) by Cannibal Corpse has got to be one the greatest Death Metal albums ever. Honestly, my idea of my favorite Cannibal Corpse album changes every few weeks as my mood changes, but lately Gallery of Suicide has been my death metal indulgence of choice.

For one thing, as intense as this album is with the insane riffing on tracks such as Sentenced to Burn ( Video ) and Disposal Of The Body, there is amazing depth and many layers to the compositions which all build powerfully providing both incredible tension and release. The arrangements are incredibly intricate and detailed as on the instrumental 'From Skin To Liquid', and the vocal performance by George 'Corpsegrinder' Fisher is nothing short of amazing. Blood Drenched Execution has possibly one of the best lead guitar performances ever heard from a death metal band, and the title track is also astounding.

$16.98 or less at Amazon.com

If you don't already have this, it would be a good CD to put at the top of your to-get list. If you love fast, heavy, brutal death metal with atmosphere and good arrangements, its hard to imagine a better choice.
